Reggio Emilia, an educating city

Saluti da Reggio Emilia!

I am very fortunate to be participating in the South Australian Study Tour to Reggio Emilia during the 2015 October term break.

Together with CESA and  DECD colleagues we will embrace the historical and cultural aspects of the Northern Italian city of Reggio Emilia.  The study tour itinerary provides many opportunities for inquiry and new experiences as we reflect and re-imagine learning from the perspective of  Reggio Emilia, an educating city.

As part of my learning journey, I will regularly blog my musings to this post, as a narrative of activities, reflections and images on the tour’s adventures!

I’d love to engage in discussion with you while I’m in Reggio – so if you have any comments or thoughts you’d like to share- please send a reply to my posts!!

Guardo l’ora di continuare la conversazione con tutti voi via post sul blog!

Acclamazioni!  Karen Sloan

  1. Hi Karen
What a wonderful opportunity you are sharing. It looks like an amazing place and I will put it on my bucket list…
Just a question are you sharing in day to day school life as well, how many children would be in attendance and is it reception- Year??
Funny my anti spam security word is “open vino” so I will follow that up!!

    • Hi Cathyb- great to read your comments! This is the 3rd time I’ve attempted to reply each time The connection has cut out! So quickly …. The week has seminars, presentations, workshops and visits to infant toddler preschool centres within Reggio Emilia who practice the Reggio philosophy of learning.mchildren are aged between 0-6 years of age – very fortunate to be part of this experience

  2. I’m not going to lie, I’m slightly jealous of everyone going on that trip!! Over the last few years the Reggio study tour has become a ‘bucket list’ item. However, until I get there, I will live vicariously through these posts. Look forward to reading all about your group’s adventures, insights and visions of the 100 at work 🙂

    • Will be in Reggio Emilia later today – hopefully these posts will keep that fire burning and perhaps cross off the bucket list next year Lisa!
