Every day during this week (25-31st August) provocations for teachers to use to spark the imagination and engage children’s thinking in literacy and numeracy will be posted on this website.  Stay tuned!


Families

Families and communities are also encouraged to participate in National Literacy and Numeracy Week.

You may also be interested in exploring the GreatStart website, www.greatstart.sa.edu.au which has been developed for parents and carers and focusses on everyday activities to promote learning about numeracy and literacy.


Teachers

The South Australian Literacy and Numeracy Expo for teachers will be held again this year on 25th and 26th August for educators from preschools to Year 12 with the theme, Learning: Exploring a world of possibilities  This event is unique in Australia as it is a cross-sector initiative, presented by Catholic Education SA, Department for Education and Child Development, Association of Independent Schools of SA and SACE Board of SA.  Key note speakers will start each day and workshops will be run by classroom teachers, who share their exemplary teaching and learning experiences with participants.  Further information about the Expo can be found on CESA Online.  Registration is now open.
